ESTHER YANG
SHAHEIN TAJMIR
Bijan Tajmir

Bijan Tajmir - Best Man

Bijan “Max” Tajmir is my brother and IT deputy for managing the computers, routers, phones, and printers that make up my parents’ home. He is the troublemaker who always loves to make people laugh. Much like his older brother, he has taken up running and is on the Hoover Cross Country team. Max will be a Junior at Hoover High School in 2013-2014.

Miguel Rovira

Miguel Rovira - Best Man

Miguel and I first met during Emory Scholars Interview week before college even started. We ended up becoming fast friends our first year when I was the “Complex” refugee. Miguel is a member of the Woodruff block and was a frequent fixture at dinners in Clairmont D. Miguel is a traveler. Aside from his touring Brazil, Germany, and East Asia, we went to Guadalajara, Mexico together in 2009. Miguel will be starting medical school at University of Michigan in 2013-2014.

Peter Kim

Peter Kim - Groomsman

Peter is my closest friend from medical school and a total research nut. So much so, he got a prestigious fellowship to take an extra year to lurk in lab; I secretly think he likes mice more than people. We sat at the same table during the orientation karaoke event and have been friends since. Often seen together in the gym, Peter’s superiority at squash is why I tore my ACL during second year. Peter will be completing a Howard Hughes Research Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital in 2013-2014.

Jordan Silton

Jordan Silton - Groomsman

After a disastrous roommate situation my freshman year at Emory, Jordan and I clicked as we were paired for the Woodruff Block. In our 7 x 20 pizza slice of a room, Jordan held a competition to try and fit the most people in the place during his notorious movie nights. He routinely had 20 or more people packed in there on my futon, his bed, and on the floor. Needless to say, our friendship outlived that futon. We were roommates for the rest of our Emory careers and then traded cities as I moved to Boston.

Philip May

Philip May - Groomsman

Philip and I met back at the beginning of Emory in the INSPIRE program. Initially, we found each other annoying organic chemistry know-it-alls. Then, on some questionable advice by advisor Preetha Ram, we took calculus-based Physics together. We ended up lab partners and spent hours together trying to churn out ridiculous reports and homework assignments. Although we started out annoyed at each other, we’ve been great friends since our physics trial by fire. Philip will be finishing his final year at University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2013-2014.

Richie Oh

Richie Oh - Groomsman

If you ask Richie what he majored in during college, he’ll tell you “Math”. If you ask the members of the Woodruff block, we’d say “Halo”. Whether it was the first week or exam week, Richie was always trying to get people together to play, even if we weren’t very good (me). It was his way of pulling people out of their studying reveries and make sure we got some socializing in. Now he’s officially getting a fancy Math PhD at the University of South Carolina, but I always wonder what his classmates would say his major is.
